Arif Raihan Mahee (Bengali language: আরিফ রায়হান মাহি; born 18 September 2002) is a Bangladeshi competitive programmer who has won major national competitions since the age of 12, as well as numerous regional competitions. His top accomplishments include silver medal in the 2017 Bangladesh Physics Olympiad(BDPhO) as well as the national championship with rank 3rd in the 2018 National High School Programming Contest(NHSPC) and bronze medal in the 2019 Bangladesh Olympiad in Informatics(BDOI). As of December 2020, Mahee was the top programmer in Khulna division. In October 2018, he achieved a highest award of Bangladesh Scouts The President's Scout award.

Biography

Mahee was born in Sylhet, and grew up there till the age of 9. In 2011, his whole family shift in Jhenaidah. His parents, MD Fariduzzman and Rehana Parvin, are pharmacist and medical officer live in Maheshpur Upazila. At age 11, he became interested in the Mathematics Olympiad. When he was 12, he participated in the Bangladesh Mathematics Olympiad(BDMO) and became runner up in regional round. Since then he interested in mathematics subject and at the age of 15 he started to participate in deferent types of olympiad. In 2017 he secured 2nd place in the regional Bangladesh Physics Olympiad(BDPhO) and 6th place in the national Bangladesh Physics Olympiad(BDPhO) with silver medal. In 2017 he first participated a programming contest named National High School Programming Contest(NHSPC) and became 1st in the regional round. That motivated him to be a competitive programmer and he became 1st in regional round again and this time he secured the 3rd place in national round of the 2018 National High School Programming Contest(NHSPC). He also became 1st in this year in BACS High School Programming Contest divisional round. Finally he got a bronze medal in the 2019 Bangladesh Olympiad in Informatics(BDOI).

His father and mother always encouraged him to do better in next time and gave support to get all his achievements what helped him a lot. They encouraged him to do social work also. He joined Bangladesh Scouts at the age of 12 in 2014. For his very good performance in many social events he got the highest Bangladesh Scouts award The President's Scout award from the President of Bangladesh Mohammad Abdul Hamid. This is the highest national award he was awarded. He also got school library best reader award from Secondary Education Quality and Access Enhancement Project in 2014 at the age of 12 in class 6 and in 2017 at the age of 15 in class 9.

Mahee first went to Merit Home School at the age of 4 in Sylhet. At the age of 9 he came in Maheshpur Upazila because of his mother's transfer and then he completed primary education from New Children Grace School. After that he completed secondary education from Maheshpur Govt. Pilot Model High School and completed higher secondary education from Maheshpur Government Degree College. Now he is studying Computer Science in BRAC University.

Besides his study and competitive career he is also a Software Engineer since 2019 and now he is studying in BRAC University and owner of ARMahee.
