Amita Marwah (born 24 December 1977) is an Indian philanthropist and social influencer. Her expertise includes pranic healing and pranic psychiatry. Her other accomplishments include being a social worker, a Feng Shui guide, a Taekwondo coach, a Self-Defense Expert, a Kathak Visharad, a Senior Yoga Teacher, and a Fine Arts diploma holder.

Her unique style has always distinguished her from the rest, and she has never conformed to the ordinary. She has been inducted into the prestigious Taekwondo Hall of Fame India Award for her extraordinary achievements. Additionally, she holds the prestigious title of being one of the top 60 Taekwondo awardees in India.


Early Life and Education

Amita Marwah was born on December 24th, 1977, into a Punjabi Hindu family in Jamnagar, Gujarat. She now lives in Panchkula, Haryana. Amita Marwah studied and earned her education in Mumbai, Agra, Faridabad and Amritsar. She demonstrated exceptional martial arts prowess throughout her schooling and college years.

Since her father was instilled in the Indian Navy early and witnessed his bravery during the Indo-Pakistan Wars of 1965 and 1971 and her uncle in the Indian Army, Amita admires them. Throughout her journey, Amita has been unwaveringly supported by her family in every aspect of her life. Her mother owned a salon during the Khalistani Movement in Amritsar. She was therefore molded into the strong-willed and outspoken individual she is today by her formative years.

Amita has studied a variety of martial arts, and her commitment to her trade is evident in the fact that she holds four black belts in Taekwondo, Tang Soo Do, Chi Kwang Do, and Karate, among other outstanding accolades. Following her marriage and family, she continues to preach the necessity and motivation for martial arts.


Personal Life

She got married to Mr. P Chand Marwah and was blessed with two wonderful daughters. Himanshi Marwah, their oldest child, is a talented artist who also has a black belt in Taekwondo. Their younger daughter Ishani Marwah, a Visharad student and accomplished Kathak Bhushan with a black belt in Taekwondo. Their darling Rio, a three-year-old beagle, completes their loving family and is the most valued part of their home. Rio brings joy to their lives.


AMAT Society

She has committed her life to fighting for disadvantaged and poor people in society. She founded the Society Amita Marwah Activity Team in 2011, which is officially recognised by the Department of Industries and Commerce in Haryana. providing free instruction in a range of genres, including martial arts, Kathak dance, yoga, visual arts, and meditation.

She encountered numerous fellow students, when she was learning herself who were not only underprivileged but also incredibly deserving. Unfortunately, these students' financial struggles made it impossible for them to continue their education or take part in competitions.

She was inspired by their sufferings and vowed from the bottom of her heart that when she grew up, she would teach these worthy kids for free. Achieving what she aspired for as they have trained more than ten thousand students in the last 12 years.

The self-defense specialists, taekwondo coaches, fine arts teachers, yoga instructors, and Kathak trainers make up the Amita Marwah Activity Team. They want to make sure that no one is left behind in the learning process in addition to educating children. They labor tirelessly and selflessly to help the poor kids they work with acquire useful skills.

The Amita Marwah Activity Team seeks to improve the lives of underprivileged kids through creative extracurricular activities. Apart from this, many schools, colleges, organisations, other societies, and NGOs collaborate with AMAT, so that they conduct summer camps, self-defense camps, yoga, Kathak, and fine arts workshops all free of cost. Every year District Child Council collaborates with AMAT for their annual summer camps, which includes Taekwondo Martial Arts, Self Defence and Fine Arts Workshops.

Her extraordinary effort has received praise from ministers, recognition from Bollywood superstars, and several awards and honors on a national and international level.

Notably, she has received commendation awards from illustrious organizations like the Panchkula Child Council and the Haryana Women Commission. On the historic days of August 15 and January 26, Amita was also given a coveted Commendation Certificate by the District Administration Department.
