Triple Jim
Triple Jim is a fictional character from the Machine Robo series. He is a heroic Machine Robo from the Jet Tribe introduced in 1986 for Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos.

Machine Robo
A member of the Jet Tribe, Triple Jim transforms into car or helicopter and stands 9 feet 9 inches tall. He was born in Iron City, and his childhood friend was Vilion the Drill Heli. He is the personal caretaker of Reina Stol, and good friends with her brother Rom Stol, and their mutual friends Blue Jet and Rod Drill. Jim is afraid of earthquakes. Because of his mechanoid nature Triple Jim does not need to breath oxygen and is resistant to cold, but is vulnerable to intense magnetic fields.
Animated series
Triple Jim Rod one of the main characters in the animated series Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos. He first appeared in episode 1, "Rising Storm! The Fighting Style of Justice!". He and Reina were rescued by Blue Jet, Rod Drill amd Rom Stol from Devil Satan 6.[1]
In episode 2, "Wolf Sword! Call Forth the Thunder of Courage!" Jim and friends attended the funeral of Kirai, where Rom took on a quest to follow the Wolf Sword's directions to find the next threat to Cronos. This quest would lead the companions to Sado fortress with the Wolf Symbol which attacked by Grujios and the Devil Satan 6. Rom and friends were captured by the Gandora when the people of the fortress betrayed them, but once it was clear the Gandora were still a threat, the people of the fortress helped free the companions. Rom used Vikung-Fu to defeat Devil Satan 6 once again.
In episode 3 "Steal the Metal Laster!", Rom Stol and his friends were traveling when Rod Drill fell into an acid swamp, which caused him to rust. The group traveled to the nearby village of Vira in an attempt to get water to clean Rod. The village was attacked by the Devil Satan 6, who were looking for the Metal Laster for Gades, which was rumored to cure rust and aging. Rom battled the 6, but they got away with a jug which they thought contained the Metal Laster. Luckily the jug contained acid from the swamp. Rod was cured of his rust by the real Metal Laster, and they made a friends with the people of the village, particularly Min, the daughter of the village chief. [2]
In episode 19, "Race to the Death!" Jim watched the annual race of Momo, along side Reina and Jet.[3]
Jim appeared in episode 24, "Gather All Machine Robo". When Kendo Robo was attacked by Geigerrock, Jim defended him.[4]
Jim appeared in episode 27, "The Magic Mountain Knight Maskrock". In the episode he was part of a Yamilan City volunteer group lead by Rom that went to retrieve the cure for Gandora rust poison gas which has effected Reina and some school children. Jim gave Rod a lift when they flew off for their mission.[5]
In episode 28, "Tough Trailer - 10 Seconds to Detonation" Jim was present in Yamalin City during a Gandora that lead to the city's core computer starting a self-destruct countdown. The countdown was stopped at the last moment by Drill.[6]
Jim appeared in episode 35, "The Secret of the Jewel People". In the episode Rubyman was trapped in Devil's Cave and sent Magnarock for help. Magnarock returned with Reina, Pro Truck Racer, Rod Drill, Rom Stol and Triple Jim, who freed him. Outside the cave they were confronted by Gandora forces lead by Diondora. She promised not to harm the other if Rubyman went with her. Although Rubyman agreed to go for the sake of the others, Blue Jet arrived with reinforcements and helped them overcome the Gandora.[7]
Blackbird Robo, Blue Jet, Jeep Robo, Magnarock, Maskrock, Rod Drill, Supercar Robo and Triple Jim attended the ceremony announcing the new Land Commander 5 team in episode 37, "Critical Moment - Land Commander 5", attacking Yamalin City.[8]
In episode 41, "Power Riser - Break Through the Enemy" when Rom attempts to leave in his Power Riser suit to take on the Gandora he is joined by many of his allies, including Bike Robo, Blue Jet, Kenpo Robo, Reina, Rod Drill and Triple Jim.
In episode 42, "Vikung-Fu - Cry of Anger", Battle Gyror, Blue Jet, Classic Robo, Combat Buggy, Countach Robo, Fire Robo, Mixer Robo, Porsche Robo, Pro Truck Racer, Rod Drill and Trailer Robo were attacking the downed Gandora mother ship during a giant hail storm when they are attacked by missiles.
Note: In the French dub of the series he is called Proto, which is the French name for the GoBot Turbo. In some English subtitled versions of the series he is called May or Nami. In some translations of the series he is portrayed as female.
Games
Triple Jim appears as a character in the 2004 Playstation 2 video game Super Robot Wars MX.[9]
