The Monster Pretenders are a team of Decepticons from the Transformers series, and are part of the Pretender class of Transformers.
History
Generation 1
The Monster Pretenders were one of the few Combiner teams not to appear in The Transformers animated series. Consisting of members Birdbrain, Bristleback, Icepick, Scowl, Slog, and Wildfly, they could create the mighty Monstructor. These toys were later recolored into Transformers: Victory's Dinoforce, with that group's combined form being christened Dinoking.
IDW Publishing
The Monster Pretenders were involved in a project orchestrated by Nova Prime to create a Combiner, leading to the creation of Monstructor.
