Cobiak is a fictional character and robot toy made by BMOG Toys. He is a heroic robotic bear who turns into an arsenal of weapons.

BMOG Toys

Cobiak is a character from the BMOG (Bio-Mechanical Ordnance Gestalts) toy line. He is not an homage to any existing character, but meant to be used as either a stand-alone figure, or as accessories to any toy capable of using 5mm port accessories, such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, Zoids Blox, and many others.

Development

Troop said he designed the BMOG Toys bear and manta mold in Studio 3D. The hexagons in its design are inspired by honeycombs.

Fundraising for the BMOG Toys bear and manta mold was done through Kickstarter. The goal of raising $19,000 was surpassed by the end of the fundraising period on December 13th, 2013.

Initially the cobalt blue BMOG bear and manta were solicited under the names Bearald and Ray Mant the Manta-Ger, as a reward for a Kickstarter campaign that did not make it's funding goals.

In October 2015 the cobalt blue bear and manta BMOG was released under the names Cobiak and Deep Blue.

Fictional biography

The heroic Cobiak was brought to life when weapons made by a group of evil interdimensional arms dealers were exposed to the power of the last world seed. He is a member of the Augmentoids. He breaks down into two assault rifles, two missile launchers, a war hammer, a combat claw, and a scanner device.

Comics

Cobiak and his parts appeared in several BMOG Toys comics. Offroad was embarrassed his Energon hatchet was identical to that used by Ironhide. So Offroad obtained a M.A.U.L.-48 assault rifles and anti-protonic missile launcher from Ursenal and serrator axe from Mant-Axe, while Ironhide obtained two rifles and two missile launchers from Cobiak.

When Sunstreaker appeared in combat with a helipack made from Cobiak, Deep Blue, Mant-Axe and Ursenal and two rifles from Cobiak, Offroad responded with an anti-aircraft gun made of pieces of Peg-Paw Plunder and The Dread Pickaxe Raybot.

Galvatronus deserved a big weapon in battle, so he carried the Obliteration Cannon made of parts of Cobiak, Deep Blue, Mant-Axe and Ursenal. He also carried an axe from the Dread Pickaxe Raybot, a rifle and scanner from Peg-Paw Plunder, a serrator axe from Mant-Axe and a plutonium rifle from Bearium.

Cobiak turns from a robotic bear to two rifles, two rocket launchers, a hammer, a tuning fork, a scanner and a connector. He shares a mold with Bearium, Carbearator, Peg-Paw Plunder, Solarbear and Ursenal.

Deep Blue turns from a robotic manta ray to holo camera and battle axe. He shares a mold with Chopp-Orr, Gamma-Ray, Mant-Axe and Pick-Slaughter/Sea-Labrys.

Comes with a sticker sheet.

Pieces of Cobiak are used in the design of ApeL.A.W., Doomchicken, Quadrotitan and UltraMog WarMech.

Pieces of Deep Blue are used in the design of Doomchicken and Quadrotitan.
