A heads up

You seem to have ported several wikipedia articles to wikialpha.

You are free to do that. However, you are expected to honor the intellectual property rights the wikipedia's original authors retain. In particular they retain the right to have their contributions acknowledged.

Unless you were the sole author of the wikipedia's version the article should bear a {{wp-cca}} on its top. You are also expected to list the names of every wikipedia contributor on the article's talk page.

You don't have to list the names of people who merely made corrections to spelling or grammar, if you were the sole author of the intellectual content of the wikipedia version - what it actually said. You should still say where it came from.

Wikialpha supports a good subset of the templates used on the wikipedia. If the article you ported uses templates not supported here your options are:

  1. Snip the section that uses an unsupported template.
  2. Rewrite the section that uses unsupported templates. Wikipedia's {{convert}} template was designed to list measures, like weights, or distances, in both metric and imperial units. It is pretty easy just like the original unit.
  3. Port the missing template - warning, this is very very hard. Please don't try it unless you are a genuine expert. I've been using wikis for almost 20 years, but I don't try to do this.

If you are unprepared to take these steps, please don't port wikipedia material here. You can always write a new version. I replaced an unauthorized copy of the wikipedia's long article on Urdu with a new rewrite. You are completely free to do that. If you do that you can copy all the references in the wikipedia version. References are not protected by copyright.

Could you please be more careful...

I checked the Wikipedia's article on Isis Fashion Awards. It was moved to Draft space. Were you Evagirl1991? Did other people work on the article? If other people worked on it, but all of their edits were to the references, or other metadata, or were trivial corrections to spelling, word order, you are still the sole author, and you don't have to put a {{wp-cca}} on the top.

But you should still say where it came from, on Talk:Isis Fashion Awards. Geo Swan (talk) 18:55, 18 December 2022 (UTC)

You started articles on over a dozen topics here. How many of them were ported from the wikipedia? If you were not the sole author of those articles, and you do not comply with the terms of the wikipedia license, I am afraid that those pages are copyright violations, and meet one of the criteria in Wikialpha:CSD.

Do you need help figuring out how to bring them into compliance? Geo Swan (talk) 19:12, 18 December 2022 (UTC)

Sockpuppetry

Wikipedia administrators say they confirmed you used four or more sockpuppets. Is that true? Did you use more than four? Unfortunately, that will complicate any claims you make that you don't have to honor the wikipedia contributor's intellectual property rights because you were the sole author of an article.

The simplest thing, if you are willing, to list all the sockpuppets you used. I'll take your word for it, if the assertion is basically credible.

Please don't employ sockpuppets here. Geo Swan (talk) 19:29, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
