Your work on Bryan Legend

Several contributors, challenging Bryan Legend had edited that article. I thought their work constituted an "attack page", and I replaced it with a stub that I thought was not an attack page.

If all those challengers are a single individual - who is now willing to cooperate with other contributors - then I strongly encourage them to use just one single ID. • I asked you here, and over on Talk:Bryan Legend, to be open about whether you had previously used other wiki-IDs to edit wikialpha.

You didn't answer, so I used the Check User function - this is something only administrators can use. I haven't used it often, and I am not an expert at interpreting its results.

It reports on the raw IP addresses a contributor has used.

I think those results establish that User:Friendlyjordies and User:JSM SHANKS are the same person, because they used some of the same, or very similar, raw IP addresses. I think the results establish you are not User:Friendlyjordies. I am not that concerned, because I don't think any of their edits were vandalism.

I found Broker20 used some of the same, or similar, raw IP addresses as wiki-IDs I blocked for vandalism. I am pretty sure this means you used those now blocked IDs.

One theory for blocking is that they are not supposed to be punitive, they are supposed to get someone'e attention. If those blocks got your attention, and you aren't going to POV demonize Legend, then they worked.

I would have preferred if you had just owned up, and said something like, "I didn't think it would matter to anyone. I get it now. Neutrality matters. No attack pages." Geo Swan (talk) 02:37, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
