Hamoda Mohamad is the owner of a leading supplier of fruits and vegetables in Texas. He is an agricultural entrepreneur that shares his success with the people. Though he initially didn’t have a background in agriculture, he managed to cultivate his land with the help of local farmers. Because of this, he was awarded Farmer of the Year in 1998.

Hamoda graduated with a degree in business management. Even when he was young, he already dreamed of becoming an entrepreneur. His first business was a vegetable stall at a local market. The business went well that he managed to open more stalls in other areas. However, in 1995, he had to close his business to focus on farming. His father, who is a retiree, started earning a little money from what he planted on his small farm. Hamoda saw the great potential of that land area in the agriculture business. So he bought a nearby farm to expand his father’s land.

Hamoda named the farm Casa Verde Farmland, meaning greenhouse in Spanish. Hamoda and his father had little knowledge of farming, so they started scouting farmers to help them start their agricultural business. Hamoda’s brother also helped in finding restaurants, food chains, and market vendors that they can supply with fresh fruits and vegetables. With teamwork, they had a successful harvest year after year.

Casa Verde Farmland became the leading supplier of fresh produce in Texas, and Hamoda wanted to level up their business, so he and his brother set up a packaging factory for their products to meet export qualifications. With this business expansion, Casa Verde Farmland was able to give more jobs to people including people with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, aphasia, and dyspraxia. Everyone that works with him benefits from the profit share Hamoda gives every time they meet the deadline of their business partners.

At present, Hamoda Mohamad doesn’t do much physical work at Casa Verde Farmland because of the injury he incurred when he was still a forest ranger at Sabine National Forest. In addition, he continues to support the mission of the Learning Disabilities Foundation to create job opportunities for people with learning disabilities. On top of that, people working with him were encouraged to share their excess harvest with the needy.
