explanation

I found an article that looked like it had been heavily vandalized, so I restored the version left by the article creator...

Only to find it was a massive copyright violation - an uncredited copy of the very large Wikipedia article.

Such articles can be brought into compliance, and I started working on that.

But, what the hell, that was really the job of the person who ported it, and it is A LOT OF WORK with an article this long. The person who ported it (1) probably doesn't know how to do this; (2) and probably isn't prepared to do that work, so why should I do it.

So, I scaled it back to a stub.

The history remains. Someone could re-use some of the references, and add some new, unique text.

If you work on the article do not restore material from the Wikipedia version without going to the hard work of properly attributing all the work of all the Wikipedia contributors. Geo Swan (talk) 17:57, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
