Substrate gallery exhibited the artwork of musicians who were also visual artists. It hosted and collaborated with influential artists, including Peter Saville, who designed album covers for Joy Division and New Order[9] and Natty Brooker, responsible for the visual aesthetic of Spacemen 3 and Spiritualized.[10][11][12] It also collaborated with Will Sergeant, a member of Echo & the Bunnymen;[13][14][15] Daniel Ash, a member of Bauhaus; Tones on Tail; Love and Rockets; John Denver;[16][17][18][19] and Martin Hausler.[20] It has showcased the work of actress Beth Bowen; musician Bridget Weiser; photographer Jon Evan Glaser; Penda Diakité, a Swiss-Malian artist;[21][22] and Bobi K, an African artist. Art Critic Peter Frank lectured at Substrate Gallery in 2007. The gallery has also featured sound performances by Singapore Sling[23] and THE MEEK.

Various short films, episodic, and commercials were filmed at the gallery, including Singapore Sling,[23] video Life is Killing my Rock n' Roll filmed by Phillip Lopez for Fault Magazine, and the Darkwavescapes, a series of psychedelic short films directed by Ramses.[24] Gabriel fine arts, London, UK, presented the 9th installment of unity in variety at Substrate Gallery.[25] The gallery also showed a multi-media event, Factory of Light, featuring producer Jean Balest's music video for House of Light, the Madrid/Los Angeles-based electro-punk band L.A. DRONES performed.[26]

In addition, Ramses was a member of the LA space-rock band THE MEEK.[29]
