Sam Barton
Sam Barton (born 29 September 1987 in Auckland, New Zealand) is a former New Zealand rugby player turned entrepreneur, actor, and rapper. Known for his diverse career, Barton has made significant contributions in sports, entertainment, and business.
First known as a New Zealand rugby player, Sam has since made his mark as the founder of The Collectiv, which he launched with his celebrity wife, Roxy Louw. Beyond entrepreneurship, he has appeared in notable TV series such as "Spartacus," "Power Rangers," and "Terry Teo," and has pursued a career in music as a rapper.

Early Life
Samuel Kane Barton was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and is of New Zealand Maori descent. He attended Glenfield College and Westlake Boys High School.
Rugby Career
Sam Barton's rugby career kicked off with the North Harbour Rugby Union, where he signed his first contract in 2007 for the North Harbour Air New Zealand Cup as both a winger and centre.
Following his 2 year contract with North Harbour Rugby Union, Sam briefly switched to rugby league, playing for the Auckland Vulcans, the feeder team for the New Zealand Warriors.
He returned to rugby sevens, representing New Zealand in Paris in 2010, and was subsequently recruited to play for Samurai International in the UK Super Series 7s.
In 2012, Barton was signed to SCAA Causeway Bay in Hong Kong. The following year he returned to play for North Harbour. During this period, he also played for North Harbour Māori and Northern Regions Māori (the feeder team to the New Zealand Maori All Blacks).
In 2017, Sam signed with the South African Gold Cup team, the Zimbabwe Old Georgians, and made a notable impact at the Dubai 7s, where he was voted player of the tournament for the Zimbabwe side. He continued his international career by representing Monaco at the Dubai 7s the following season before retiring from professional rugby in 2018.
Currently, Sam participates in exhibition matches for the SA Rugby Legends.
Acting and Music
Barton has appeared in television series such as Spartacus Blood and Sand, Power Rangers Dino Charge, and Terry Teo. Sam also known for his short form skits on TikTok and Instagram featuring his celebrity wife Roxy Louw (Barton).
Sam is also a rapper and electronic hip hop artist who has released music independently across all major platforms.
Entrepreneurship
Sam’s career in online entrepreneurship began in 2008 where he launched NeverKO, an e-commerce brand specialising in specialised protective sports equipment. After 2 years of operation Barton went on to sell the business and achieving his first exit.
Following this Sam rode the explosive wave of group buying and email marketing through a portfolio of companies Dailydo, Yazoom, Groupy and Spreets which later went on to be acquired by Australian e-commerce group Lux Group.
Sam has now founded The Collectiv with his wife Roxy. The Collectiv is an influencer and celebrity agency helping brands capitalise on the explosive trend of the creator economy while supporting creators in monetising their personal brand. The Collectiv incubates technology projects in house as they build their suite of tools to support creators in the creator economy.
Personal Life
Samuel Kane Barton married Roxy Louw on 02/02/2020. The couple met in 2017 during Sam’s South African rugby contract. They were engaged in 2019 in Auckland New Zealand. Sam and Roxy later married in Still Bay, South Africa in 2020.
Roxy is known as a DJ, surfer, model and actress having been the face of Oakley, FHMs sexiest woman 2010 and featuring in Hollywood films Blue Crush 2 and The Perfect Wave.
Philanthropy
Sam is actively involved in philanthropy, primarily through his involvement with the Princess of Monaco Foundation.
