Nick Jonsson

Niklas Hans Jonsson, better known as Nick Jonsson, is a Swedish Co-founder and Managing Director of Executives' Global Network (EGN) in Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia.[1][2][3] He is also an author, senior executive coach, and professional speaker. Jonsson is known for his contributions to exposing the loneliness and isolation experienced by top executives.[4]

Early life and education

Born in Sweden,[5] Jonsson studied at Adult High School and later received a Secondary Diploma from Axel Weudel (1997 – 1999). He studied Construction Painting at Lars Kagg (1991 – 1993).[1] He completed his bachelor's in Business Communication (1999 – 2003) and master's in Public Relations (2003 – 2004) at Bond University.[3][5][6]

Career

Jonsson has over 15[7] years of international general management, direct sales, and marketing experience.[8] He has lived and worked in countries including Sweden, the UK, Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia [9][10] and has represented international firms, including Electrolux, Philips, Oriflame, International SOS, and Sophie Paris. He has also served as the Vice-Chairman of the Nordic Chamber of Commerce in Ho Chi Minh City and the Direct Selling Committee Vietnam.[9][11]

He joined Spark Communications in 2004 as an Account Director and worked there until 2006 before joining Chameleon PR as the Strategic PR Consultant, where he worked until 2007. He then worked at Oriflame as Area Sales Manager, served until 2009, and joined International SOS as Business Development Manager. He worked at International SOS until 2010 and later joined Zappos.jpg as the General Director in January 2010, a position he held until February 2013. In March 2013, he was appointed as a Strategic Advisor at Sophie Paris, serving until December 2013.[12] In January 2014, he became the Deputy General Manager, Medical Services at International SOS.[1]

Jonsson has been a keynote speaker, writer, and contributor at Nick Jonsson Keynote Speaker since June 2006. He has been the Executive Coach at Jonsson Management Consultancy Services since June 2020.[1] He has been a global keynote speaker on executive loneliness since 2007 and holds the Ironman Top 1% World Athlete Gold status for 2021.

He Co-Founded Executives' Global Network (EGN) Singapore in July 2015 and is currently serving as its Managing Director.[1][9][13] It is the largest professional peer networking association in Asia. Jonsson was shortlisted for the Mental Health Award in the International Campaigner of the Year, InsideOut Awards 2021-2022.[14]

Publications

Jonsson is the author of the book Executive Loneliness, in which he raises awareness and aims to eliminate the stigma around the phenomenon of executive loneliness. The book focuses on the five pathways to overcoming isolation, stress, anxiety, and depression in the modern business world.[6][15][16] He is currently publishing his second book Executive Mental Wellness.

He contributed to The Business Times Singapore as an author from 2019 to 2021.[17]

Social Contributions

Jonsson is a volunteer and fundraiser at Samaritans of Singapore (SOS),[10] a suicide hotline in Singapore.[5] He has donated several keynote proceeds to SOS and set up the Race to an End of Executive Loneliness campaign.[18]

He is a Partner with Junior Achievement (JA), a non-profit organization that works toward inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy;[10][19][20] and Make A Wish Foundation, for which the Queensland Government awarded him the Golden Target Award.[21] He was listed as one of 50 Leading Lights in the inaugural Asia Pacific Kindness & Leadership Awards.[22]

Personal life

Jonsson is married to Dona Amelia[23] and currently lives in Singapore.[24]
