New Jersey Football Coaches Association or NJFCA is a non-profit 503c organization. Established in 1984, the organization seeks to maintain, organize, and promote football. It also governs football-related activities in New Jersey, implementing legislation and conducting activities to train coaches in this profession.

History

New Jersey Football Coaches Association was established in January of 1984, with the aim of setting highest standards for football and in its related profession of coaching. It was founded for charitable and educational purposes. Since inception, the organization.

The organization seeks to make the sport exciting and safe for everyone while ensuring transparency for all the stakeholders involved. The main aim of the organization is to have a strong voice in interscholastic legislation affecting football in the State of New Jersey, while also ensuring highest level of competition.

The organization allows exchange of information on various coaching methods and techniques while promoting fellowship and social contacts within the association. It also maintains partnerships with selected charities.

The organization provides honorarium donations to all the schools of coach of the year winners to benefit their athletic and academic programs. These are distributed at a banquet called the NJFCA Super 100 Banquet. The top 100 Seniors (selected by regional coaches committees) in the state are honored at this banquet. All Student-Athletes are paid for compliments of the NJFCA and receive shirts and plaques all paid for by our association.[1]

Recent events

As of 2022, John Jacob is the commissioner of NJFCA. During the pandemic, the organization created a hybrid system where it implemented a plan through which weekly online coaching and training clinics were set up. There were different guest speaker sessions and seminars conducted to help coaches understand the intricacies and nuances involved in the sport and in different yet related bodies. The organization also recorded several video messages during the pandemic through various coaches to encourage and motivate students from all walks of life.[2][3]

The organization has been focusing on improving the high school athletics landscape through various efforts and programs, enabling both coaches and students to learn and adapt to various trends.
