History

Headquartered in Los Angeles, California,[3] Metal Babe Productions was established on 21 September 2006 as a partnership by Alison Masson (Cohen), a rock journalist with a clothing line,[2] and Christine Salas (Corcoran). In 2008, Masson restructured the company as a sole proprietorship changing the name to Metal Babe Mayhem.[4]

The company's first products in 2007 included a t-shirt with the company's lips/bones staple logo, designed by artist Bill Bronson,[5] and a guitar pick necklace. Since 2007, the company has added 45 additional designs to an assortment of merchandise. The logo was in a pinkish tone with the slogan Taking Over The World… One Shirt At A Time,[1] which got updated to a darker burgundy in 2014 with the slogan Where Music And Fashion Meet. In 2010, the company focused on fashion and started exploring options for clothing, jewelry, and accessories that could be incorporated into the company's lips/bones design.[1]

On January 1, 2013, the company began its monthly playlist showcasing 15 to 20 unsigned musicians.

In January 2016, it launched a pin-up series with artist Bill Bronson, releasing 12 designs monthly that depict rock, music, and current Metal Babe Mayhem-related fashion.

On 16 September 2016, Metal Babe Mayhem partnered with actress and author Brooke Lewis to launch their collaborative Rock Your Hot Mess clothing line in conjunction with the release of Brooke's latest book, Coaching From A Professed Hot Mess.[6] Their other clothing designs include Ms. Vampy (7 October 2016), Scream Queen Brooke Lewis' pinup girl (2 December 2016), and Bridal & Bachelorette Rock Your Hot Mess (16 January 2018) which introduced plus size options later in July 2018.[2][4][5][7][8][9][10] The logos for clothing designs Rock Your Hot Mess, and Ms. Vampy Design were created by the artist Bill Bronson, the company's original logo design creator.[5][9][10] In addition to Bill Bronson, the company has utilized designs from artists Steven Talbott and Robert Thompson.

In 2017, the company also collaborated with Al Leather Bane for The NAMM Show to launch the guitar strap Studded Star. Previous collaborations include a clip-on purse, fringed cuff, and Studded Star belt.

On 1 May 2017, Metal Babe Mayhem Playlist got its official sponsor Indie Scene Radio which contributes five songs monthly.

Its slogan is You Create. We Promote. Plug Into The Network. Some of its clients were Every Mother’s Nightmare, Cage & Focx, DC4, Cooter Brown, Corners of Sanctuary, Suzy Wilson, Bob Dee with Petro, DaVang, Ryatt, and LIT SOUL.

In August 2018, the company collaborated with Corners of Sanctuary for the Kiss Your Ass Goodbye limited edition tour shirt to coincide with COS' latest album, The Galloping Hordes, and commemorate the band's first tour of Europe.
