On January 22, 2014, the Edmonton Sun reported that Marion John Alexandruk, a convicted sex offender, had been released from the Bowden Medium Security Institution.[1][2]

In 2000 Alexandruk was arrested for drugging a young man he met in a peep show, taking compromising photos of him naked, and then using the photos to blackmail him into submitting to sexual relations.[1] He was convicted in 2003, and received an eight year sentence.
