Lisa Mirza Grotts (born 13 February 1963) is an American etiquette expert, influencer, writer, and public speaker.[1][2][3][4] Grotts wrote the book A Traveler's Passport to Etiquette[5][6] and she was the first etiquette contributor for HuffPost for nine years.[7][8][9][1][10]

Biography

Lisa Grotts was born into a Christian Assyrian family in California's Central Valley. She is the granddaughter of author William Mirza, and the daughter of author Julius William Mirza. Grotts earned a bachelor's degree in communications and political science from the University of the Pacific. The influence of her Assyrian heritage is central to her teachings. Grotts is the founder and director of LisaGrotts.com, a firm specializing in etiquette and protocol advice.[11]

Grotts was the Director of Protocol in San Francisco during Mayor Willie Lewis Brown Jr.’s tenure. Grotts organized a wide range of protocol services for His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama; President Bill Clinton; John F. Kennedy, Jr., Ambassador Pamela Harriman.[1][12] She is a former member of the International Society of Protocol and Etiquette Professionals.[1] Grotts clients include BlackRock, KPMG, Oracle, Levi Strauss, American Airlines, Cornell University, UC Berkeley, and Stanford hospital. Grotts’ etiquette expertise has been featured in various media outlets and including New York Times, Mashable, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Condé Nast Traveler, The Times of London, Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, Fox News, USA Today, and Dear Abby.[7][8][13][14][15]

Lisa Mirza Grotts became an Anglophile during her junior year at the University of Oxford. As a philanthropist, Grotts was awarded the Order of the Hospital of St John. Grotts covered the royal weddings of Prince William for HuffPost and Prince Harry for the Nob Hill Gazette.[16][17] Grotts was invited to attend the Coronation of Charles III and Camilla.[18] Grotts serves as Global Brand Ambassador for Halcyon Days, a luxury goods company
