Larsen B ice-shelf

The Larsen B ice-shelf was a geographical feature of Antarctica. It was named after Norwegian Polar explorer Carl Anton Larsen.
During January 31st to March 7th, 2002 the ice-shelf collapsed and broke up. The collapse was almost certainly a result of global warming. Approximately 3,500 square kilometers of ice broke off.
