Career
As a child growing up, Ross had a lot of energy and his parent enrolled him in many different activities to keep him busy.[1] In his childhood, he mainly played in basketball league in the summer.In Elementary school in the United States elementary school, Jonathan was enrolled in the YMCA summer league for his age as he get the feeling into basketball.
In middle school playing his first actual school Basektball season for mickey Leland college prep academy. In 7th grade, while playing with The knight ross got his official chase down the block at the age of 13 (9/14/2017). He went on to play AAU for Hoop Nation family and the Houston Defenders bringing a lot of skills to both teams. In his junior and senior years, games bought notice him as he started getting noticed by college coaches.[2] Also ross was awarded "Defensive player of the year" for Hoop Nation Family.

Ross takes time to give back to his community and donates sports supplies to business and kids in need. Also takes time to bring food to the homeless when he has free time. ross has established a decent social media following. He had over ten thousand Instagram followers before his college season.
High school career
As a Sophomore, Jonathan played for Jack Yates high school in Texas.[3] Jonathan has shown huge growth as his junior year he contributed his skill to help bring Jack yates to 4A State championship(2020-2021) On January 10, 2020.[4] ross recorded 20 point in game and a huge dunk during blowing out Furr High school. As a senior, ross averaged 12.2points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game .On January 10, 2022, ross partner with opendorse and open sponsorship to purse pursue name, image, and likeness endorsement opportunities.
Recruiting
Ross is considered a talented athlete recruit in the world. He received offers from many NCAA Division 2 programs, including Texas Wesylan and NorthArk , before ending his high school career.[5] In June 2021, Ross was offered by college and universities (juco) basketball programs after showing interest in playing for a college on social media.
