Jeremy Delk

Jeremy Steven Delk (April 22, 1980) is an American entrepreneur,[[1]] investor, speaker, and author. He is a financier and Executive Producer funding independent and theatrical release films in the US and abroad including the 2021 Christmas Film Christmas vs the Walters staring Dean Winters and Shawnee Smith.[[2]] Delk is the CEO of Delk Enterprises.[[3]]

Early life and education

Delk grew up in rural Kentucky and lost his father at 7.[[4]] He attended St. Joseph Elementary, Nelson County High School, and completed his bachelor’s in Business at Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.

While in high School, Delk joined DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America), a club for future entrepreneurs. By 18, he was day trading and soon built a portfolio of up to $1.2 million while he was a freshman in college. He traded from his PalmPilot and Ameritrade account and was making good money, until the Dot-Com bubble burst his sophomore year.[[5]]

Career

Delk worked with Fidelity Investments in Boston and NYC, gaining early experience and expertise from the financial sector.[[6]] He then founded Delk Enterprises in 2001, initially as a real estate development firm specializing in residential development. Later, it diversified and invested in and managed other businesses.[[7]] Headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, Delk Enterprises seeks to invest in the life-sciences, consumer, technology, sports, real estate, and building materials sectors.[[8]] Through Delk Enterprises, Delk has started or funded more than 100 companies, and been an early investor in Uber, AirBNB, and 23&Me.

Delk founded Tailor Made Compounding in 2015.[[9]] It was ranked the 21st fastest growing company in the U.S and the 4th fastest growing healthcare company in the U.S. by Inc 500.[[10]]

He became the Chief Executive Officer of MediVet Biologics, LLC.,[[11]] [[12]]the world’s first in house stem cell technology for the Veterinarian industry (now Ardent Animal Health).

In February 2014, he was appointed as a Director by Medical Australia Limited after taking Medivet Biologics public on the ASX then later taking it back private in late 2015 before the eventual exit to a Wisconsin PE firm who now operate as Ardent animal health.[[13]]

In 2018 Delk Enterprises acquired interest in International Peptide Society which he later sold to www.a4m.com in August of 2021

Controversy

In October 2020, Tailor Made Compounding (TMC) and Delk were sentenced in federal court by U.S. District Judge Gregory F. Van Tatenhove, for unlawful distribution of compounded prescription drugs.[[22]] [[23]]

Delk was sentenced to three years probation, four months home incarceration, 100 hours of community service, a $20,000 fine, and a prohibition from participating in a business involving the distribution of prescription drugs. According to the pleas agreement TMC sent 112 vials from October 23 2018 to May 14th 2020 of Methlycobalamin, a prescription form of vitamin b12 to a licensed physician.[[24]] Methlycobalimin is used to treat vitamin B12 deficiency.

Personal life

Delk is getting married to Maggie Caughell on October 1st 2022.[[25]] He has two kids Graham Delk and Ava Delk.
