Dilshan TG
Ranbanda Gedara Dilshan Tharaka Gunasekara (born 18 June 1998. Sinhala: දිල්ශාන් තාරක ගුණසේකර) , better known by his name Dilshan TG , is a Sri Lankan YouTuber , Web Designer and social media personality. Dilshan TG started his career in 2016.he later became a popular figure in YouTube and other social media[3].
Personal life and Education
Dilshan TG was born on 18 June 1998 in Gampola, Sri Lanka. His father’s name is Niroshana Chaminda Gunasekara and mother’s name is Dilhani Sri Menaka Jayawardane. He studied at St. Andrews College and Kuruduwatte Royal College. He faced to the A/L in Tech stream and got the privilege to attend to the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka.
Career
Dilshan TG started his career with YouTube in 2016. He was awarded for creating the first website for his school Kurunduwatte Royal College - Gampola, in 05 December 2016 at the Annual Prize Giving[4]. TG starts his YouTube channel with the first video named “How to convert Sinhala fonts into Unicode”. At the same period, he joined with the R – factory which is a famous Software Development Company. He was the in-charge of social media accounts, video editing, and graphic design in that firm.
On 01 March 2018, TG organised an event to provide free school bags for the needed students in Pallapitiya Central College, Gampola. With the great performance in the career life within only a few years, he was interviewed by the Sirava TV NEWS[5][6] at 10.30 p.m. on 24 March 2018. He was appreciated for his effort for academic activities and willingness to win the life even he had a lack of financial support from the family.
In addition to that, TG was invited as a guest speaker for the “Technological Day’’ at Kurunduwatte Royal College – Gampola on 23 September 2018. The following year, 2019 can be identified as a golden year in TG’s life. He started his new business, “SPEEDY CONTENT CREATORS”.
On 24 March 2019, Dilshan TG was interviewed by the Divaina Sinhala Newspaper[7]. Also, he was admired by the YouTube channel named “My TV Sri Lanka”[8]. In the next year, he followed a Web Engineering Diploma at ESOFT. Another performance by TG can be seen with the “Smart රටක්” programme which was conducted with the purpose of educating regarding the new technology. the students from the schools located at rural areas were the target group there. TG participated as a guest speaker at the programme. Especially, at the Wickramabahu National School, Gampola.
Dilshan TG received the privilege to provide his contribution for the event organized by politician Wimal Weerawansa in order to celebrate his twenty years in the political life[9]. The event was occurred at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre on 22 February 2020 with the participation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. TG got the opportunity to create the video to be presented throughout the occasion.
On 17 February 2021, TG gained 50,000 subscribers for his YouTube channel[10].
