"All my life, I wanted to be a great inventor. But, my family wouldn't allow it. They told me that I'd never amount to anything if I went down this path. So, I did the only reasonable thing any kid would do, and ran away. I ran as fast as I ever ran before. I made sure to never look back. I had to fend for myself in the harsh streets of Tokyo. One day, I met a beautiful woman, and a few years later, we brought Machiko into the world. When she got bullied at school one day, I realized that she wouldn't be capable of defending herself without my help. So, I wanted to give her something special. Something that would keep her safe in this cruel world. But when the military built that mech suit of yours, I found what I needed all this time. But before I could get to it, you took it. I copied the blueprints and spent the next few days building a few giant robots for her. She said she wanted something "more powerful", so I made more robots, each one stronger than the last. I don't plan on destroying the world. I raised my daughter this way because I want her to be safe. Is that too much to ask?"-Daizo's speech.
