Corvee
Corvee is a tax software company that offers solutions for accounting firms, tax professionals, and taxpayers.[1] Their flagship product, Corvee tax planning software, gives tax professionals and taxpayers the ability to analyze tax scenarios, find tax-saving strategies and create tax plans in minutes.
Overview
Using proprietary software and in-depth training, Corvee helps accounting and tax professionals provide tax savings to their clients. The company's flagship product, Corvee tax planning software, allows tax firms to collect information using custom questionnaires, recommend tax strategies, estimate tax savings across multiple strategy combinations, entities and years and prepare tax plan proposals and plans for their clients based on that data.[2] The software includes over 1,600 tax strategies at the federal, state, and local levels that allow firms to save their clients' money on taxes.[3]
In addition to software, Corvee offers growth and development programs consisting of coaching and training for tax firm clients designed to help them increase revenue and profit margin while building a professional team.[1][4]
Corvee has received numerous honors, including Accounting Today's Top New Products of 2021. Corvee was named a finalist in the 2021 CPA Practice Advisor's Technology Innovation Awards[5] and won the K2 Quality Award.[6] The company was recognized by Inc. 5000 in 2021 as one of the fastest-growing companies in America, ranking number 2998 on the Inc. 5000.[5][7][8]
History
Corvee was co-founded by Andrew Argue, Amanda Argue, and Michael Bergman[9] in October 2020.[1][10] This name is inspired by the French word Corvée, which refers to the first recorded type of tax in human history.[9] Later, Corvee launched its tax planning software solution.[10]
In November 2020, the company updated its tax planning software solution to include the proposed tax changes by President Joe Biden. The software began showing the current law vs. proposed tax changes to help clients plan for future taxes.[2] By 2021, over 2,000 accountants and 30,000 businesses used Corvee's tax planning software.[11]
In January 2021, Corvee added employee retention tax credit (ERTC) calculations to its tax planning software. These ERTC calculations cover section 206 for 2020 with a 28-step calculation and section 207 for 2021 with a 12-step calculation.[4][12] The same month, it announced the release of its 2021 tax season questionnaires, file requests, and engagement letters within the company's tax planning software.[13]
In March 2022, Corvee launched the Tax Advisory Services (TAS) Scale program, which includes tools and coaching to help firms generate more revenue from tax advisory services while growing firm profit.[14][15] It also launched State and Local Tax (SALT) planning within Corvee tax planning, allowing firms to analyze client tax scenarios at the federal, state, and local levels for additional tax savings using state-specific tax planning strategies.[16][3]
