Byorn Gold
Early Life
Byorn Gold is a singer/songwriter and musician (guitar and bass), born on May 26, 1967, in Qaanaaq, Greenland. Based in Denmark and with strong roots also from having lived in the US, England, Spain and India, Byorn Gold composes, records and performs melodic, singable songs, based on “acoustic rock” and drawing from a multitude of genres.
Career
Byorn’s early influences included The Beatles and Bee Gees (with whom he shares initials!). He took up the acoustic guitar in 6th grade, and the electric guitar + singing in 8th grade. A few years later, influenced by the UK band Level 42, he picked up the bass. Living in Spain for a few years, Byorn picked up the resilience and the repertoire to play dozens of the best cover songs which also matured him as a song writer. In 2016, Byorn went to Nashville TN for the first time and played at several notable Open Mics, including the Bluebird Café and Douglas Corner and did his first recordings which eventually ended up as entries on his fourth album Eastern Time.
In 2018, Byorn went back to Nashville to finalize recordings for his debut album STYLES at the Pitch Perfect studio, owned by Stevie Goodie. Later that year, he recorded at the Red Amp Audio studio in Richmond, VA. Several of the songs became his second album, amply titled “Richmond”, after being mastered at the Media Sound Studio in Copenhagen, Denmark.
In 2019, Byorn released his debut album STYLES.
In 2020, Byorn started a #5Years250Songs journey to release 250 original songs about life’s ups and downs. They can be found on his Facebook artist page which was created late 2018 and which currently is one of the largest Danish artist sites at 700K followers. He also played 250 consecutive days of live concerts with a new cover song each of these days!
In 2021, the EP “Richmond” was released.
In 2022, the album “Hindsight 20-20” released.
In 2023, the album “Eastern Time” releases.
Several of Byorn’s videos have already reached 100K+ views on Facebook, with the song “Guardian Angel” seen over 6 million times already.
Byorn engages intensely with his Facebook tribe every week with songs, stories, live chats and occasional comments about music, life and friends.
Albums
The debut album STYLES (2019), partly recorded in Nashville, Tennessee (USA), paid tribute to many of the genres that influence today’s music.
2021 saw the release of the EP “Richmond” with a rock/folk influence, produced partly at Red Amp Audio in Richmond, Virginia (USA) and partly by the legendary Peter Brander of Media Sound Studio in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The third album “Hindsight 20-20” was released January 2022 with a modern sound, made in collaboration with Danish ResQ Productions.
“Eastern Time”, the fourth album, will release January to August 2023, consisting of three EPs: Beginning, Being and Becoming.
