Short Term Accommodation services provide a high-quality respite program in which your loved one is cared for in a comfortable and relaxing setting. They’re ideal for those with disabilities who want to get away for a weekend or a few weeks. Respite can help a family stay together as a family while caring for a loved one with a disability.

1. Better Care provides a fun and inclusive environment. You can try new activities, make friends all in a safe and supported environment. 2. 24/7 hours staffed, fully furnished, self-contained, accessible house 3. All meals provided throughout the day including breakfast, lunch, dinner, morning and afternoon tea 4. Fun activities including lunches, concerts, football, fetes etc 5. Supported Independent Living[4]


Looking for a house to call home?

Through our whole-of-life approach to accommodation assistance, our shared living arrangements are designed to support residents as they develop their independence and participate in a variety of activities and programs. Each person must feel included, safe, and happy in order to enjoy the Better Care lifestyle. Friendships abound in our Supported Accommodation homes, which provide the highest quality assistance available in the disability sector. A place where you can call home and live independently on your own terms, with your privacy and preferences respected. Individualized, Person Centered Support

1. Our devoted team is well-trained to assist clients with a wide range of needs. 2. Your Home, Your Personal Space 3. Your home is a place where you can be yourself, enjoy social activities, and still have your own space. 4. Learn and Apply Independent Living Skills 5. You will be assisted in living as independently as possible in your new home. You can prepare your own meals with assistance, help with household chores, and even shop for yourself. 6. Fun Activities to Enjoy 7. You will have access to a range of supervised indoor and outdoor activities in your new home, including shopping, movie nights, and backyard gardening.


Day Programs[5]

Our Day Programs are gathering places where persons with disabilities can participate in activities in an inclusive and engaging setting. Practical life skills are emphasized, along with confidence and social skills development. All Better Care Day Programs are staffed by Lifestyle Assistants who are competent and well trained to provide great and relevant support to clients. Our Day Programs set the bar with their amenities, which include: 1. State-of-the-art sensory rooms with interactive board, lights and massage chairs 2. A range of fun activities for clients to participate in during the day 3. Games – various arcade games across multiple sites 4. Garden spaces to grow plants and even veggies 5. Wheelchair vehicles 6. Cherrywood Friendship Farm for animal therapy and farm experiences



Allied Health[6]

Our Allied Health clinicians are committed to providing high-quality treatment to people with disabilities so that they can achieve their full potential. To provide complete support, we take a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach. Psychologists, Behavior Support Practitioners, Speech Pathologists, and Occupational Therapists make up Better Care’s Allied Health team, which provides a variety of therapy and intervention services suited to each client’s specific requirements. 1. Support Coordination[7]


What our Support Coordinators Can Do for You

If your NDIS plan includes Coordination of Supports, then our experienced Support Coordinators are available to guide you and your family throughout the process. We support our clients and their families by: 1. Guiding you through the NDIS process including identifying your goals and selecting the best services to meet your needs 2. Assisting with managing a budget for each type of support and negotiating prices and service agreements 3. Discussing in home care respite, if this is required 4. Offering support during NDIS plan reviews 5. Navigating and utilizing plans yearly, with budgets approved by the NDIS 6. Assisting with Housing Pathways – Being there for you in times of crisis

Recovery Coaching

The Support Coordination team provides recovery coaching to people who have psychosocial disabilities. We can help you uncover your skills, personal abilities, and aspirations with the help of a one-on-one recovery coach, so you can use them to create effective management strategies for your health. Recovery-oriented practice recognizes that recovery is about aiding people in living a full and meaningful life rather than a cure. It is a strength-based strategy that is supported by strong and respected interpersonal interactions. Each individual’s journey will be unique. Your clinical mental health service and the recovery coaches also collaborate and work together.


Specialist Support Coordination

A Specialist Support Coordinator provides a greater level of coordination, such as dealing with complex health, education, or housing issues. Your Specialist Support Coordinator is likely to have a specific and relevant certification that can help you navigate the NDIS. The goal of Specialist Support Coordination is to eliminate the complications and impediments that affect a person’s capacity and ability to carry out their plan.
