A1 Auto Transport, Inc. is an American auto shipper company known for offering car shipping services.[1] A-1 Auto Transport is reputed to be one of the largest US-based worldwide auto shippers and movers in the car shipping industry with offices and storage facilities located in major cities and metro areas throughout the U.S. and overseas.[1]

History

A1 Auto Transport was founded in 1988 by Tony Taylor as a towing company in Watsonville, California. It started with just a single truck offering 24 hour emergency shipping and roadside assistance. The company later expanded its fleet of trucks, operating in various parts of California.[2]

Milestones

  • In 1992, A-1 Auto Transport purchased its first auto transport carrier.[2]
  • In 1995, the company increased its fleet to 50 auto transport carriers that moved vehicles across the United States..[2]
  • In 1997, the company opened its first international office.[1]
  • 1998, the company started its own brokerage firm and referral services to handle certain shipments they could not ship at the time.[1]
  • In 2000, A-1 Auto Transport expanded internationally to service Asia, Europe, and other locations.[3]
