The Rust Renegades were once members of the Torchbearers, a group of Cybertronians dedicated to finding the ancient treasures of their home planet.

Unite Warriors

In a webcomic promoting Lynxmaster, versions of the Rust Renegades with Decepticon coloration were seen following Grand Galvatron's defeat at the hands of Lynxmaster.
