EARLY LIFE
Moinak Dutta was born in a Bengali family on 11th of July 1987 in Kolkata, West Bengal. His father was a marketing professional and his mother a home maker. He was preceded by a brother.
EDUCATION
Moinak Dutta passed his ISC examination from The Future Foundation School in the year 2005 with Humanities as his stream. Following that, he completed his B. A. from the University of Calcutta with Mass Communication as his major.
EARLY DAYS
While still in college, Moinak started working as an EMCEE, anchoring and hosting various ATL, BTL and CREATIVE events in and around West Bengal.
ACTING CAREER
While in school, Moinak enjoyed acting in plays and after passing his ISC examination, he started working with NGOs performing awareness street plays. After a few stints in a few television shows[3], his first break came in the year 2009, when he was offered the character of BAYTHA[4] in Ravi Ojha Production's BOU KOTHA KAO[5]. In the year 2011, Moinak got the offer to play the character of HABUL SEN[6] one of the protagonists in the movie TENIDA[7] directed by Chinmoy Roy. Later he shifted to Mumbai and worked in short films like MOKSHA[8], BED TIME STORIES- THE MIMIC[9]. In 2020 he acted in the web series FLESH[10] directed by Danish Aslam, where he played the character of KUNJAL AGARWAL[11]. Along with that, he has worked in various advertisements as an actor[12].
MUSIC CAREER
Moinak Dutta was drawn to World Music since his school days and as a child, he started playing drums under the mentoring of Gaurab Chattopadhyay. He had formed a Bengali Rock band with his elder brother and a few friends, which broke away eventually. He came back to music in the December 2020 when he started producing instrumental music[13], under the pseudonym of Shaivya[14]. Later he started singing and producing songs in English, Hindi and Bengali[15].
He is an advocate of online music distributors[16] and likes to experiment with new technologies that flood the market in the field of audio visual production[17]. He is one of the first Indian independent musician to use AI animation[18] to produce his music video[19].
AS A WRITER
Moinak has also written a book[20] called COURIES SERVICE which is available on Amazon Kindle[21].
