A heads up

CEO_Aviv_Nguy does not comply with Wikialpha:CSD because it is not written in English. So I tagged it with {{db-language}}.

Is it SPAM? If it has been posted lots of other places it is unambiguously SPAM. User:XXBlackburnXx is a WMF administrator who has been methodically tracking SPAM posted to both WMF projects and non-WMF wikis, like wikialpha. Some of the stuff he tags with {{db-spam}} are unambigously SPAM. Other pages would be SPAM on an WMF project, but do not conflict with CSD -- unless it is being dumped across non-WMF wikis.

As the other guy said, please sign your comments. Also, everyone was to be polite, even with people they disagree with. Geo Swan (talk) 18:27, 10 May 2024 (UTC)

  1. he identifies many pages which definitely require speedy deletion under Wikialpha:CSD. Yes, he has ignored my request as to how he addresses spam pages. Yes, some thing he thinks require speedy deletion are not eligible for deletion under Wikialpha:CSD. I decline those good faith speedy nominations.
  2. Professional courtesy. XXBlackburnXx is, as he claims, an administrator on the Wikipedia. Wikialpha is only one of dozens or hundreds of non-WMF wikis where he fights SPAM. He is an expert at it. Lots of SPAM pages here would fly under the radar if it weren't for his efforts.
  • XXBlackburnXx should be doing all his edits using a single ID. If you convince me he is using multiple IDs, I will block the secondary ones, a it makes distinguishing good faith contributs from non-good faith contributors much harder when people use multiple IDs.
  • You surprise me with your question "Also whats code to post uploaded pics into articles?"
Wikialpha uses the same code as every other wiki that used the WMF software.
If File:A useful picture.jpg is your usefule image, then putting [[File:A useful picture.jpg | thumb | 200px]] on the page renders the image into the page.
The "| thumb" argument is almost always used. It tells the render engine to render the image as a "thumbnail" - meaning not at its native resolution.
The optional "| 200px" argument specifies a width of 200 pixels.
Images rendered as a thumbnail can have a caption.
You can also list image files between <gallery></gallery> directives.
Some templates, like {{Infobox Person}}, have an image field, with its own rules. Geo Swan (talk) 00:00, 12 May 2024 (UTC)

Your warning

In this edit your edit summary says: "geo swan, do u want your permanent page on wikipediasucks.co like antandrus et al have, im administrator there, u wont ever touch it!"

I did a couple of google searches, because I was curious as to who antandrus was, and what your beef with them was. [1] [2] Those searches didn't seem to find any smoking guns...

Wikialpha's rules are pretty lenient. Some recent contributors are getting blocked for (1) violating those simple, lenient rules... (2) attacking other contributors who are following those rules.

I find it interesting you think readers of wikipediasucks.co need to be warned about me, when you have made essentially zero effort to politely explain your issues with me here. I initially thought User:XXBlackburnXx was a vandal, because he was blanking a bunch of articles, with edit summaries like {{db-spam}}. I blocked him. But, when I took a closer look, most of the pages he blocked did merit speedy deletion, because, although wikialpha's inclusion rules are very lenient, they do require articles being written in English.

So, I unblocked him, and apologized.

I think I am a person who can recognize when I made a mistake. I think I can acknowledge my mistakes.

If you REALLY think I am making mistakes, I encourage you to politely explain what you think was a mistake.

If you end up being blocked here, I will still have THIS PAGE on my watchlist. Even if you are blocked you can still post here. I'll read it, and, if you make a convincing case, I will tell you you convinced me. If another administrator blocked you, and you convinced me that was a mistake, I will talk to them about it. If I end up blocking you, and you convinced me I made a mistake, or if you convince me you know what triggered the block, and you convince me you won't do it again, I'll unblock you.

The ball is in your court. Geo Swan (talk) 23:29, 11 May 2024 (UTC)
