Vain Train has the same alternate mode as the Transformers Autobot character Yukikaze.
Like most GoBots, Vain Train has numerous abilities because of robotic body. He can survive in space and is super-humanly strong and tough. He can fly in robot mode and project energy blasts from his hands. His body heals quickly when supplied with energy. He can turn into a train.
In the story Cultural Appropriation by Fun Publications it was revealed that Apollo, Breez, Bullet, Decker Decker, Hi-Way, Jack-Attack, Loco, Pow Wow and Vain Train were sent to explore Level 29 when the Cataclysm threatened to destroy the GoBots home universe.
Vain Train was featured in the 2016 Ask Vector Prime story Echoes and Fragments, set during the events of The Transformers: The Movie. The manipulations of the evil Gong and Sideways resulted in various GoBots, Rock Lords and Starriors swapping places with characters during the events of that film. Spoiler, Decker Decker, Tank, Loco, Stretch, Vain Train, and Geeper-Creeper participated in the attack on Autobot City.
Bullet appeared in the Transformers: Renegade Rhetoric episode 25 story "Brother's Keeper". He among the crew of a primitive Guardian ship which returned to GoBotic space after a long mission and was captured by the Renegades. The Renegades learned about a strategically important planet they had discovered, as well as Vain Train's strained relationship with his elder brother. Cy-Kill used his mind-control abilities to exacerbate his brother's worst tendencies, thus pushing Vain Train into the Renegade camp. Vain Train and the similarly manipulated Decker Decker battled against their crew when Leader-1 showed up to rescue the scouts. The new Renegades lost, and the crew got away with their ship.
In "The Stolen Moon" Vain Train was one of several Renegades to enter the communication moon of GoBotron after Fitor stole it with an astro-beam. An injured Leader-1 took them out one-by-one. Vain Train got frozen by the moon's cooling system.
