Sufyian Barhoumi is a citizen of Algeria held in the Guantanamo Bay detention camps, in Cuba.[1] He was one of a dozen captives captured in what is usually called an "al Qaeda safehouse in Faisalabad".

2005 war crimes charges

He was one of the ten captives who faced charges before the first, Presidentially authorized Guantanamo Military Commissions, facing those charges in November 2005.[2][3][4] Those charges were stayed following the United States Supreme Court ruling in Hamdan v. Rumsfeld in 2006.

2008 war crimes charges

He faced charges again under the authority of the Military Commissions Act of 2006.He faced charges again, under the authority of the Military Commissions Act of 2006.[5][6] Those charges were dropped when Prosecutor Darrel Vandeveld blew the whistle on corruption within the Prosecutor's office.

2012 war crimes charges

He faced charges again under the authority of the Military Commissions Act of 2009.[7]
