Appearances

Season 1

Theodore "T-Dog" Douglas is a muscular and well-intentioned man, yet somewhat clumsy. He faces grief and regret after accidentally dropping the key to Merle's handcuffs down a drainpipe, leaving him trapped on a rooftop while their group flees the city. They soon return to save Merle, but Merle is gone, leaving his amputated hand behind. After their camp on the outskirts of Atlanta is overrun by zombies, T-Dog escapes by road with the other survivors and takes refuge at the CDC. It later explodes and he barely manages to escape.

Season 2

T-Dog and the remaining survivors move to Hershel Greene's farm. Here, his role remains relatively small and he is merely seen offering advice and helping with chores. He also shows concern about being the only African American member of the group and asks Dale to run away with him. When walkers overrun the farm, he escapes with a few other survivors. He is keen on moving on and escaping, but Lori convinces him to turn back to get Rick and the others.

Season 3

He soon moves with the group to a prison, where he seems to take a liking to the surviving inmates there. T-Dog tries to convince Rick and Daryl to let the two surviving prisoners join their group, but he is overruled. In "Killer Within", T-Dog is killed by walkers after first being bitten while securing the gate, and then sacrificing his life to allow Carol to escape when they run out of ammunition. Glenn mentions in "Say the Word" that before the apocalypse, T-Dog went around in his church van and helped the elderly. He praises T-Dog as a hero and states that T-Dog saved his life a thousand times.
