Raz Klinghoffer

Raz Klinghoffer (AKA Hamster) is a record producer, songwriter, mix & audio engineer, and guitarist.[1]. He records at his recording studio in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Raz is also known as for his DJ name "Hamster" whose work can be heard on television shows such as "American Horror Story," Ink Master" and "The Flash[2]."​

Early Life

Raz started producing at a fairly young age, over ten years ago. He began his career primarily producing rock, and said that he always had a love for electronic music and pushing myself creatively in the studio in general[3].He grew up in Tel Aviv; and done all of his projects for the Israeli artists. He work with the "well known" clients, who were popular in there."Those days were a great introduction in learning the ins and outs of production, engineering, and mixing. To become a really good producer, and especially a mix engineer, you need years of practice and a lot of trial and error" said Raz in an Interview to the Voyagela.[4]

Beginning

Raz then turned his sole attention to studio and started doing his own productions, experimenting with electronic, indie, and pop sounds.He decided to release some of those recordings under the name “Hamster.” His Song “City Limits,” was charted on Spotify's top US Viral Hits (#8). The video also exploded on YouTube – it currently has over 1.5 million views.

Works

Raz has spent over 16-years producing and mixing most genres of music including pop, electronic, rock, hip-hop, R&B, Americana/folk, film scores, adult contemporary, country, and metal. Raz works with up & coming and established artists at all levels of their careers, and ghost produced for some of the biggest names in the industry. Raz’s co-write and production work for EarlyRise, “Wasteland,” was the only track by an unsigned artist to be featured in-game in Ubisoft ‘Rocksmith 2014’ – alongside Paramore, Jack White, Arctic Monkeys, etc[5].His track “La La La” received airplay across the country on powerhouse top 40 stations Z100 (NYC), Q102 (Philly), XL106.7 (Orlando), 91.7 ZHT (Salt Lake City), and KISSFM (Phoenix)[6] His Songs has been featured in Hungama[7]

Scholarship

Raz had announced a scholarship of $1000 from this Music Studio 3 years ago. It can be seen in the Washington State University[8]
