Quakeblast is a third-party Transformer homage to Generation 1 Shockwave created by Cloud 9.
Other third-party Transformer homages to Shockwave include Mastermind Creations Cyclops, TFC Toys Phantom of Screamer Set and Mech IDeas Longblast.
Development
Quakeblast was announced in July 2015.[1]
Images of Quakeblast were included in the TFcon USA Third Party Panel in October 2015.[2]
Quakeblast was released in January 2016.
Reception
Fictional biography
Quakeblast's characterization in the animated series is based on an early profile written for the character which presented him to be the guardian of Iron base, with no desires beyond that station. His toy's tech spec and universe profile, however, wrote of a character who sought to overthrow king because he views it as the logical thing to do. This was the version of the character who impressed fans with his appearance in comic book series. Also, unlike his cartoon incarnation, in which he was depicted as an easily beatable foe, his (sic) was very powerful.
