Muneer Ahmad a professor of law at the Yale Law School. He is a specialist in international human rights and immigration law.

He is known for his work as co-counsel for Omar Khadr, a Canadian that is detained at the Guantanamo Bay detainment camp.[1]

Khadr subsequently dismissed Ahmad, after winning a legal fight to not be represented by Americans.[2]

Ahmad was critical of the qualifications of John Merriam, the 31 year old military lawyer who was appointed to defend Khadr.[3]

"He is represented by a 31-year-old army captain who has never represented a defendant at trial in his life, even for charges of jaywalking... It would be laughable if the stakes weren't so high.[3]"

Ahmad contributed a chapter to Guantanamo attorneys.[4] Ahmad called representing Khadr "...the most challenging client representation in which I have engaged."
