Mario Nawfal
Mario Nawfal (born 8 May) is a Dubai-based Australian serial entrepreneur, angel investor, and speaker.[1][2] He is presently the chairman of Athena Group of Companies, which operates in over 40 countries and has over 15 subsidiaries.[3][4]
Nawfal is a partner at International Blockchain Legal LLP and the creator of WeareGrowthHackers, IBC Group, and he’s the Co-Founder of NFT Technologies. As an investor, Nawfal has helped a lot of businesses succeed across a variety of sectors, including FinTech, Marketing, Consulting, Fitness, and E-commerce.[5]
As of 2022, his net worth is predicted to be approximately $130 million.

Early life and education
Nawfal was born on May 8th, 1994. He migrated to Australia when he was six years old. He later earned a degree in banking and finance from Monash University.
Career
Mario started his career in 2012 when he founded Froothie, which is now one of the largest brands in the health and wellness industry. Mario propelled Froothie to $1 million in the first year and over $10 million in the subsequent year using bootstrapping techniques and with an initial investment of $300.[6][7][8]
Following Froothie’s success, Mario launched HX, The Real Food Revolution, Optimum, and Prestige Home Appliances under a conglomerate now known as the Athena Group of Companies.[9] HX is a global personal mobility brand; Optimum is a leading brand of kitchen appliances; The Real Food Revolution is Australia’s largest wellness event; and Prestige Home Appliances is known for distributing high-end kitchen appliances.[10][11]
In 2017, Mario launched IBC Group as a blockchain consulting agency. Today, IBC is considered one of the leading incubators and accelerators of web 3 projects and is invested in over 200 startups. [12]
In 2018, Mario suffered a severe setback at IBC, getting scammed out of millions and almost losing the business. He also established IBI Ventures and later became a partner and equity holder at the Blockchain law firm, International Blockchain Legal.[13]
In 2019-2020, Mario launched WeAreGrowthHackers which quickly became the world’s largest growth hacking agency. He later merged WeAreGrowthHackers into IBC Group to continue expanding his web 3 empire, betting on the long-term growth of the space.[14]
Mario stepped down as CEO of IBC in 2021 to concentrate on his recent venture, NFT Technologies, a portfolio business listed on the NEO Stock Exchange (ticker: NFT) and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (ticker: 8LO) [15]
In 2022, Mario relaunched his show, The Crypto Roundtable, which immediately became the largest online event in crypto with an audience of over 50,000 live listeners per episode. The show was relaunched on Twitter Spaces, YouTube Live, and LinkedIn Live.[16]
Controversy
In 2021, Mario rose to prominence on Clubhouse after he was momentarily banned from the audio-sharing app despite owning "The Roundtable," the platform's most popular business show.[17] In its first month, his room garnered 55,000 followers, before a disagreement with the platform’s founders led to Mario’s account being halted, and later permanently disabled.[18]
Mario’s community publicly went in arms, with multiple press outlets covering the story. Thousands of emails and tweets were sent to Clubhouse and an online petition was started to urge Mario’s reinstatement.
After the account was reinstated, Mario did not return to the platform for unknown reasons.[19] People sent Clubhouse a lot of emails and tweets, and an online petition was started to get Nawfal back on the show.[20]
Personal life
After being duped by a close senior manager at one of his firms in late 2018, losing him millions from the scam, Mario began a passionate pursuit of his sole getaway from business, the dance of Bachata. Mario began attending festivals in 2019. His first workshops that took place prior to Covid were fully booked across the country. Mario is now invited to festivals globally as one of the most well-known Bachata artists.
Mario is also seen regularly at several conferences and talk shows, where he shares his industry expertise and tips to build a business from scratch. He is also a speaker at most major crypto events around the world including TedX, Davos, and the UN General Assembly.
