Transformers: Generation 1

Fictional Biography

Magnificus was the Decepticon Consul for domain of Meibon. This position seems to have granted him some amount of power, and those in his staff quickly grew jealous of him. They eventually framed him for a crime he did not commit, and he was sent to the deepest regions of space to become a robot pit fighter. Meanwhile in the Microverse on the planet of Xeptos a noble named Ga'mede was set to be executed over a family dispute. Magnificus saved Ga'mede by bringing him into the Macroverse with his matter enlarging scope. The two decided to team up given their similar circumstances, and have crossed numerous battlefields together. They now walk a path of revenge against those who betrayed Magnificus.

Reception

Magnificus was named the 22nd top unfortunately named Transformer by Topless Robot. [1]

Comic Book Appearances

A robot that shares Magnificus's appearance has been seen in both Fun Publication's "Shattered Glass" alternate time line, and in Dreamwave's Transformers comics where he appears in a cloning tube. However, in both cases it is more likely that this is just a black repaint of Perceptor. This is due to the fact that "Shattered Glass" has the Autobots as antagonists (therefore evil black perceptor), and the Dreamwave comics were published before the release of the toy. [2][3]
