Jogi Asad Rajpar is a Sindhi lexicographer, free knowledge enthusiast, content writer, translator and Android developer . He is known for his work to preserve knowledge on digital platforms in Sindhi language and has enormously worked for Sindhi language Wikipedia and Wiktionary.

Early Life and Education

He was born in Thari Mirwah, District Khairpur, Sindh Pakistan. Got his early education including secondary and higher secondary education from his native town Thari Mirwah. In 2004, He moved to Karachi and got admission in KPT Apprenticeship Training College, Manora, where he stayed for three years to complete his Technical education in various trades. In 2007, he got admission in the University of Sindh, Jamshoro and in 2010 he completed his Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from the Institute of Mathematics & Computer Science, University of Sindh.

Career

In 2012, JogiAsad joined Hidaya Institute of Science & Technology, Jamshoro as a trainee software engineer and worked on project Sadqah Aqiqah Tracking System, a web and android app and other software development projects. In 2014, he worked as an android apps developer in Eurosoft Tech a Karachi-London based software firm, where he worked on a project Hillmans Cars and Cabstreasure, a cab booking app for a London based client. In 2020, he established his online business company JogiDroid Logix .

Work

He has been working on Sindhi Wikipedia a Sindhi language edition of Wikipedia and Sindhi Wiktionary a free online dictionary since 2015. He has been also working on open source platforms and collaborative online dictionaries such as Sindhi Wiktionary, Glosbe. He organized Sindhi Wikipedia awareness workshop in Karachi on 24th May 2017 and also striving to spread the free knowledge through print and electronic media and social media. He was interviewed by Radio Pakistan Khairpur, KTN News TV for his work on Sindhi language .

Awards and appreciation

He received an appreciation certificate and award on the occasion of international volunteers day organized by Sindh Facebook Friends in Karachi on december 2021. In January 2022, he received an other award from Sindh Renaissance forum, Karachi for his Sindhi language contributions. He is also appreciated by late Dr.Kamal Jamro in his book "Sindhi Boli aen Sakafat".
