Jian Long, also called Hao Hou, is a fictional character and third-party Transformer homage to Generation 1 Snarl and Age of Extinction Scorn made by Jin Jiang Toys in 2014.

Jin Jiang Toys

Jian Long is a third-party Transformer homage to Generation 1 Snarl. He combines with his team members to form Ares.

The name Jian Long is Chinese for Stegosaurus. It can also be translated as "sword dragon".

A recolor of Jian Long was released in the colors of Age of Extinction Scorn under the name Hao Hou, which means "howling roar".

Development

Renders of the TFC Toys dinosaur combiner toys were posted to ACToys message board in June 2011.[1]

Additional prototype images were posted in October 2011.[2][3]

Color toy images were posted online in November 2011.[4]

The Star Rescue Team dinosaur combiner was released in May 2014 by Jin Jiang Toys.

The Good Morning, Cybertron! podcast for October 31st, 2011 discussed prototype images of the TFC Toys dinosaur combiner in the news.[5]

The Good Morning, Cybertron! podcast for December 26th, 2011 discussed prototype images of the TFC Toys dinosaur combiner in the news. The hosts said it looked sweet and beautiful. They compared it design to that to a Megazord and hoped it would come out in a hurry.[6]

The [email protected] podcast for September 20th, 2012 selected concept art of the TFC dinosaur and rescue combiners in Generation 1 Dinobot and Defensor colors as one of the New Picture Picks.[7]

The Shattered Cast Uncut podcast for April 18th, 2014 discussed the TFC Toys dinosaur combiner in the news. The hosts disliked it.[8]

The Shattered Cast Uncut podcast for May 22th, 2014 discussed the TFC Toys dinosaur and rescue combiners in the news. The hosts initially disliked them until they realized how low the cost was compared to other third-party Transformer combiners.[9]

The Shattered Cast Uncut podcast for May 29th, 2014 discussed the TFC Toys dinosaur combiner in the news. The hosts thought the low price made them worth it, and that they looked better than Age of Extinction Dinobots.[10]

The Good Morning, Cybertron! podcast for June 9th, 2014 discussed prototype images of the TFC Toys dinosaur combiner in the news. The host said he had ordered the set and planned to review it.[11]

The Retro Robot Radio show for August 2nd, 2014 covered the release of the box set of the Star Rescue Team dinosaur combiner in the news.[12]
