Heidi Squier Kraft is an American psychologist who, after serving in a combat hospital in occupied Iraq, became a notable author and speaker on mental health issues facing GIs and returning veterans.[1][2][3]

Education

Kraft earned a PhD in Clinical Psychology at University of California, San Diego School of Medicine in 1996.[2]

Military service

Kraft whose father was a United States Navy officer, joined the Navy as an avaition psychologist, during her internship. She met and married a fighter pilot in 1999.[2] She served in Iraq from February through September 2004. She retired from active duty in 2005.

Author and speaker

Kraft published "Rule Number Two: Lessons I Learned in a Combat Hospital" in November 2007.[1][2]
