Granite (Rock Lords)
Granite is a fictional character from the Rock Lords series introduced in 1986. He is a member of the heroic Rock Lords in Boulder's tribe.

Rock Lords
Granite is a heroic Rock Lord made of granite. In the English Rock Lords series he is a gigantic and powerful alien rock-man. His figure has 2 fingers and a thumb on each hand, but his animation model features 3 fingers and a thumb.
In the French Bleu, l'Enfant de la Terre series he is small and can fly.
In the IDW Publishing Transformers stories Granite is a Cybertronian Non-Aligned Indigenous Life-form.
Development
Granite appeared in the 1986 Tonka's World of Entertainment catalog as the Marbles toy in an alternate color scheme. Meanwhile the toy solicited as Marbles was the Granite mold in an alternate color scheme.

Fictional biography
A happy-go-lucky rock with a ready laugh, Granite is truly a "gentle giant". But put him in the thick of the fight and he's one of the most fearsome combatants on the battlefield. Despite its ordinary appearance, the T-Gun's shiny bullets will pierce anything and that's enough to send any evil rock running for cover!

Boulder first appeared in the 1986 film GoBots: Battle of the Rock Lords among the of heroic Rock Lords on the planet Quartex.
Bleu, l'Enfant de la Terre
Granite was among the Rock Lords who appeared in the French animated series Bleu, l'Enfant de la Terre. In the first episode he plays on the beach with his companion Rock Lords.
Books
The 1986 Rock Lords Coloring Book by Golden, a division of Western Publishing, revealed Granite can transform himself to look like other Rock People.[1]

Echoverse
Granite was featured in the 2016 Ask Vector Prime story Echoes and Fragments, set during the events of The Transformers: The Movie. The manipulations of the evil Gong and Sideways resulted in various GoBots, Rock Lords and Starriors swapping places with characters during the events of that film. In the amalgam reality created by Sideways and Gong, Granite and the Rock Lords filled in for Wreck-Gar and the Junkions during the events of The Transformers: The Movie. After Boulder's tribe made peace with the Autobots and Guardians they celebated by dancing. Motosan and Bullseye showed off their moves to Granite.[2]
IDW Publishing
Boulder, Brimstone, Granite, Nuggit and Spearhead had a cameo appearance among the Non-Aligned Indigenous Life-forms Blurr drove past on Cybertron who appeared in IDW Publishing's Transformers: Robots in Disguise issue 4 story "Devisive".
Telepictures Publications
Granite was among Boulder's troops in "Conquest of the Command Center!" by Telepictures Publications the Summer of 1986.[3]
Granite was among Boulder's troops in "Update From Quartex" by Telepictures Publications in Winter 1987. In the story Magmar's forces attempt to force Boulder's troops into a lava river, but they are saved when Nuggit charges in with several Rockasaurs to help.[4]
Tonka
Granite appeared in the 1986 Tonka pack-in comic story "Powerful Living Rocks Face a Deadly New Peril".[5]
Toys
- Bandai Rock Lords GoBots Granite (most of Europe, 1986)
- Although the toys were identical for the North American and European releases of Granite, the packages were different. Comes with a grey "T-Gun" rifle. The US version was released by Tonka and only mentioned the brand as Rock Lords, where the European version was released by Bandai and credited the Rock Lords as a part of the Robo Machines GoBots series.
- This toy was released as Gutsrock in the Machine Robo Revenge of Cronos line, where it came with a red gun (although a brown gun is depicted on his package).
- Tonka Rock Lords 7500 Granite (USA and UK, 1986)
- Turns from rock to Rock Lord. The US release comes with a red "T-Gun" rifle.
