Giant Type-61 is a fictional character and third-party Transformer homage to Generation 1 Devastator made by Maketoys in 2012.

Maketoys
Giant Type-61 is a third-party Transformers and homage to the Constructicon Devastator. Six individual robots combine form Giant, an homage to Devastator.
Development
Maketoys first teased a Devastator homage toy on their web site in June 2011.[1]
In July 2011 Maketoys posted the first prototype pictures of the Giant members.[2]
Promotional photos of the Giant prototype included a comparison with FansProject Colossus.
In 2012 Reprolabels released a label set for Giant Type-61.
Reception
The [email protected] podcast for July 7th, 2011 selected the Maketoys Giant prototype as one of the New Picture Picks.[3]
In the TF Beyond podcast for July 5th, 2012 the Giant Type-61 was covered as a topic.[4]
The Twincast podcast for October 26th, 2011 covered Giant team in the news.[5]
In the Fwooshcast podcast for November 30th, 2012 one of the hosts talked about the Giant Type-61 he recently bought.[6]
The Cybercast podcast for December 21st, 2013 discussed the TFsource Christmas 2013 sale on Giant Type-61 in the news.[7]
Giant Type-61 was featured in the 2013 toy reference book Transforming Collections by Philip Reed.[8]
The Hasbro Toy Fair 2016 Investor & Press Day event in February 2016 featured a slide about expanding Transformers into China. Among the pictures on that slide was a man holding Giant Type-61.[9]
