FitTrack is a Canadian consumer health management brand headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, founded with the purpose of empowering people worldwide to achieve health and happiness. Its product range includes Bluetooth-enabled smart scales and smartwatches that track personal health data like sleep, hydration, body fat, muscle mass, activity and more. FitTrack’s products work in concert with FitTrack’s app to make health management simple and sustainable, bringing consumers a holistic, real-time picture of their health while helping them to improve it.[1][2]

FitTrack is owned by parent company Cubert Inc, a brand builder in the health space - in addition to FitTrack, Cubert founded Toby and Ace (pet care) and Eskafil (skin care). In 2020 FitTrack saw 300% growth.[3]

In 2021, FitTrack announced it would be partnering with Advanced Human Imaging (AHI) to bring consumers smartphone-enabled health scanning technology. The company announced AHI would be available to FitTrack users as of 2022.

History

Headquartered in Toronto, Canada, FitTrack was founded in January 2019 by Jeffrey Lee (CSO, Cubert & CEO, FitTrack) and Marius Ronnov (CEO, Cubert). That same year, their first smart scale was launched, selling at a price point of $89.95 USD and within two months, sales scaled globally.[4][5]

As of 2021, the company operates in eight countries and has 70 permanent employees in the US and Canada. Currently the FitTrack Health app has more than 800,000 users.[6]

Products

FitTrack products are available through their online store and via the FitTrack Amazon store. The company’s four products connect to the FitTrack Health app, available for iOS and Android.[7][8]

Smart Scales

FitTrack’s flagship product, the smart BMI scale Dara, provides users with 17 body composition measurements (body fat mass, body fat percentage, body water, muscle mass, muscle rate, body mass index (BMI), basal metabolic rate (BMR), metabolic age, protein rate, and more) which are obtained with a BIA scan that travels through the user’s body from the scale’s four metal plates. The Dara scale tested within 3% accuracy of a DEXA scan.[9][10][11][12][13]

In August of 2020, the company announced the launch of Beebo, a smart maternity scale that helps expectant mothers track trimestrial growth through pregnancy and infant growth after delivery. Made wider than the Dara smart scale, its pregnancy mode, infant mode and 17 body metrics accompany expectant parents through pregnancy and support their journey back to health in post-partum months.[14][15][16]

Both scales connect to the FitTrack Health app via Bluetooth, where users can find their body composition metrics in detail, along with progress made and tips for improving metrics.[17][18][19][20][21][22]

Smart Watch

In November 2019, FitTrack launched the Atria 2.0, a health smartwatch that uses wireless-enabled wearable technology to measure data such as the number of steps walked, heart rate, quality of sleep, steps climbed, and other personal metrics involved in health and fitness, 24/7. These metrics are connected to the FitTrack Health app, allowing users to reach fitness goals faster and modify activity in real time to achieve optimal wellness. The Atria 2.0 features significant upgrades, such as a built-in thermometer, heart rate and blood oxygen level monitor, not previously available in version 1.0.[23][24][25][26][27][28]

Tempo Infrared thermometer

The Tempo infrared thermometer uses infrared technology to get accurate temperature readings without the need for physical contact. It was built to maintain accuracy while improving hygiene conditions for forehead and ear temperature readings. The product received FDA approval in 2020 and began distribution in July 2020.

Technology

Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA)

FitTrack’s flagship product, the smart BMI scale Dara, uses Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) to measure body composition. The scale sends a safe electrical signal through a user’s feet once they’ve stepped on. This signal passes through water that is present in hydrated muscle tissue, and meets resistance when it hits fat tissue. This resistance is then measured to calculate 17 body composition measurements such as body fat mass, body fat percentage, body water, muscle mass, body mass index (BMI), basal metabolic rate (BMR), metabolic age, and more.[29][30][31][32]

Advanced Human Imaging (AHI)

In 2021, FitTrack announced it would be partnering with Advanced Human Imaging (AHI) to bring consumers smartphone-enabled, non-intrusive health scanning. These include a face assessment, which scans for metrics such as heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate and CVD risks, and a body assessment, which provides insights into body circumference and composition, as well as risk indicators for obesity and type-2 diabetes.[33][34]

Global Presence

FitTrack is available in the UK, France, Germany, USA, Canada, Italy, Spain & Australia.

Reception

Fittrack’s products have been mentioned in articles for their accuracy and use of cutting-edge technology, with Forbes mentioning them as one of the “Hottest” last minute gifts in North America.
