Salvatore ("Sam") Maceo and Rosario ("Papa Rose") Maceo Sr. were Sicilian immigrants and organized crime bosses in Galveston, Texas in the United States. Because of their efforts Galveston Island became a nationally known resort town during the early and mid 20th century, during a period known as Galveston's Open Era. Their most famous restaurant and casino venues were the now-vanished Hollywood Dinner Club and the Balinese Room.
