Ari L. Kaplan is an American lawyer, writer and public speaker.[1] [2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11] Kaplan graduated from George Washington University's law school in 1997. Kaplan graduated from Boston University in 1993.[12]

The title of Kaplan's film Like Snowflakes in December comes from a phrase used by Donald Rumsfeld, to refer to the dropping of bounty leaflets that lead to the capture of many of the Guantanamo captives.[13]

Kaplan is notable for producing a documentary about attorneys working on the cases of Guantanamo Bay captives entitled Like Snowflakes in December.[1][13] The title of the film comes from a comment made by former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, about the dropping of bounty leaflets that lead to the capture of many of the Guantanamo captives. The film grew out of tapes Kaplan made during research he conducted for an article he published for George Washington Magazine. Kaplan had interviewed various graduates of George Washington University. After publishing the article Kaplan decided to add more interviews, and produce the documentary.
