Abdullah Shahab (b. circa 1978 (age 45–46)) is an Afghani whom American intelligence analysts believed has ties to terrorism. [1]

Shahab is a nephew of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, the founder of Hezb-e-Islami Gulbuddin.[1] The United States classifies Hezb-e-Islami Gulbuddin as a terrorist organization.

In May 2005 the International Committee of the Red Cross delivered a letter from Shahab to his father, Shahabuddin Hekmatyar, saying that he was being held at the Bagram detention facility.[1] According to his family Shahab disappeared in the fall of 2004 while on a trip from Peshawar, Pakistan to Islamabad, Pakistan. The Pajhwak Afghan News quoted a former leader in the Hezb-e-Islami Gulbuddin who said Shahab was captured in Afghanistan's Kunar Province.

The Quqnoos News Service, when reporting on the capture of his father Shahabuddin Hekmatyar in August 2008, stated that his son Abdullah Shahab continued to be held in Bagram.[2]
