Celia Rose is an American folk musician.[1] Rose was born in Alabama. She released her self-titled first album Celia Rose in 2000. She lived and performed in Port-au-Prince, Haiti in 2001-2002. In 2003 she moved to Paris, France, where she formed a duo with Johannah Cantwell. The pair released an album entitled Butterfly in 2005. The pair toured South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, Madagascar, Togo, Morocco, Rwanda and Burundi as Cultural Ambassadors for the U.S. State Department.

Rose moved to New York City in 2007, where she taught song-writing to children, in Harlem, and earned a Masters degree and New York University.[1] She released her second solo album, Stories, in 2007.
