Berko is a fictional character in Marvel's Transformers comics.

Berko, a man seemingly in his forties or fifties, was originally a poor, homeless man from the USA, living in his trailer. (It is not known whether "Berko" is his first name or surname.)

Somewhere in the 1970s or 1980s, Berko's life changed drastically when a cosmic carnival spaceship abducted him. In this curious alien carnival ship, Berko was originally put on display as the first human specimen on the ship's gallery. In the course of years, Berko's popularity and hard work paid off, as the ship's director, a gigantic green slug-like alien called Big Top, released him from the gallery show and made him a trustee, in charge of organizing show events.

Later in the 1980s, the cosmic carnival ship came in contact with the Autobot Sky Lynx, who was carrying four human children (three boys and a girl). The children wanted to see the show, but neither they or Sky Lynx had anything to pay the entrance fee with. So Sky Lynx and Berko struck a deal: the new visitors could pay off their debt by being temporarily put on display, just like Berko had been.

Unfortunately for Sky Lynx and the children, because of Big Top's greed, the temporary exhibit turned into a permanent one. They were kept on display for months, until Optimus Prime and Bumblebee had found them and came to their rescue. In the course of events, Berko turned against his boss Big Top and sided with the Autobots instead. Thanks to Optimus Prime's and Bumblebee's help, Berko, the children and Sky Lynx were able to escape.

The children were brought safely home to Earth, but Berko's tale didn't end there. As Sky Lynx was driven back to space by frightened, angry humans, Berko stayed aboard him. Events led them to the Central Point Space Station, where they were imprisoned and condemned to be eaten by the Mecannibals. They were later rescued by two Autobot Pretenders, Cloudburst and Landmine.
