Rebecca Gleason is a American film director.[1] Her first film, Molly, a short, won the LACMA Young Directors award. Her first feature film, Summer '03, premiered at the 2018 SXSW film festival.

In its review of Summer '03 The New York Times said Gleason's "caustic coming-of-age [film] curiously spares no sympathy for family, friends or faith."[2]

In January 2020 Deadline magazine reported she had sold a script for a television series entitled Work it out.[3] The series, would be set in 1994, and would focus on a fan of Jane Fonda's exercise videos. Gleason was to have been one of the series producers.

In 2021 Netflix announced they had agreed to fund Gleason to direct a new version of Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice, from her own script.[4][5] The film, to be titled The Netherfield Girls, will be set in the present day, and will star 19-year-old Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, in the lead role, as Lizzie Bennet.

Gleason is also a consulting producer on the upcoming Amazon series The Summer I Turned Pretty.[6]

Gleason will be directing the pilot episode of a Disney Freeform produced program entitled What I Was Doing While You Were Breeding.[7]
