The Bearded Gypsies performed in Toronto when they toured North America in 2014.

The Bearded Gypsies are a four piece musical group from Australia.[1][2] Their music has been described as an unique mixture of jazz, blues, gypsy and various kinds of folk music.

Madeleine O'Gormon, reporting in What's on in Wollongong wrote: "There is absolutely nothing better than being blown away by a band that, until that night, you had heard virtually nothing about."[3]

The group released its second album, one recorded live, on January 24, 2013.[4]

"What’s even better is the fact that each musician is remarkable (and highly trained) in his own right. The guitarist (the maestro of the group) fingerpicks his way to glory through Hungarian Holiday, an upbeat country tune, while the Spanish influenced Alaskan Whaler allows the melodic violin to carry the song. The bass player gave a masterly performance which looked effortless, while the drummer experiments with beats beyond the conventional, performing the wonders of jazz, classical and rock all in the one set."

"This Thu Jan 24 the band are gearing up for their live album release at The Gov. They recorded their first album in the studio, but Gossner says it just didn’t hit the mark. The live approach was the only way to capture the raw energy of their intense, hurricane stage presence."
