Andy Kong is the founder of Alqen.com, an ecommerce software for marketplace sellers. With a passion for automation, he enjoys scripting and is well-versed in designing automation flows and developing secure and scalable systems. Throughout his career, Andy has scaled his businesses and teams to 150+ employees.

Early Life

Andy was born in South Carolina, USA. At a young age, Andy developed a hard work ethic and a passion for building by helping his parents run the family’s restaurant. Part of his early experience in operation management and technical troubleshooting.

Education

During high school, he enrolled at the Academy of Engineering AET in 2018, a two-year engineering dual enrollment program consisting of courses focused on theory and design. After high school, he subsequently started his e-commerce agency, then dropped out of college to focus on his career.

Career

In eighth grade, Andy began hosting Minecraft servers. Lacking capital, he resold server space from OVH at a marked-up profit margin. This became his first start-up, NuclearNode, which earned him $600 per month and was later acquired by an Australian hosting company. Andy later started freelancing by creating websites for local businesses and friends and eventually charged $500 - $1,500 per website. Nearing graduation, he started selling products on Amazon and scaled the business. He then recruited virtual assistants from the Philippines to work on his business while he was in class. In 2019, Andy operated an ecommerce management firm that offer consulting for sellers on the Amazon and Walmart platform. By 19, he managed 150+ employees in the USA and the Philippines combined. Andy later founded the software company Alqen.com, an ecommerce software for marketplace sellers. He also served as CTO of a crypto mining data center that offers Mining-as-a-Service, Blackwater.co.
